Job summary

The East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for a dedicated Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join its team for a 6-month fixed term position. The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive care, engage in various clinical responsibilities, and contribute to a range of obstetric and gynaecological services.

Qualifications

  • Full registration with GMC is essential.
  • Wide experience in all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology needed.
  • Active participation in CME and CPD programme.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical sessions including Acute Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • Participate in antenatal clinics and elective caesarean lists.
  • Handle non-resident on call commitments.

Fixed Term Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join the team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. This is a fixed term Locum post for 6 months.

Full registration with GMC is essential.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a Locum Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with an interest in a range of Obstetrics and Gynaecological services to join our friendly and busy team. This post has arisen due to an increase in demand of the clinical service. There will be a non-resident on call commitment and then clinical sessions to complement the needs of the Department to include Acute Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Antenatal clinics , Elective caesarean lists and some general Gynaecology.

Qualifications
  • Recognised medical qualification
  • High diploma (fellowship or Membership) of specialty college
Registration
  • Full registration with GMC
Training and experience
  • Wide experience in all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • MRCOG
  • Active participation in CME and CPD programme
  • ATSM or equivalent experience in Benign Gynaecology and Hysteroscopy
  • BSCCP accredited colposcopy
Administration
  • Leadership Skills
  • Knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance and appraisal
Management
  • Management skills and budgetary awareness
  • Management course and/or qualification
Audit
  • Demonstration of completed audit projects
Research and publications
  • Evidence of clinical research culminating in publications
Teaching
  • Experience of undergraduate and post graduate teaching
  • Additional certification of training in medical education

  • Ability to work effectively with other professionals- Consultant obstetricians, neo natal nurses and midwives
