We are seeking a locum consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist for a 12-month appointment.
Our maternity service offers a range of specialist clinics, including mental health, vulnerable service users, twins, preterm birth, small baby, and Rainbow clinics. These services involve a multidisciplinary team, including specialist midwives.
The obstetric duties encompass routine and emergency care, with non-resident on-call responsibilities for obstetrics. Key clinical tasks include providing labour suite cover, conducting elective caesarean sections, ward rounds, maternity triage, assessment unit coverage, and antenatal clinics.
The gynaecology department covers urogynaecology, reproductive medicine, benign and emergency gynaecology, and gynaecological oncology, with both community and acute services.
Our two-tier gynaecology on-call rota involves one consultant covering emergency gynaecology at QMC campus, and another handling complex surgeries, including oncology at City and maternity services across campuses, supporting the obstetric team as needed.
