National Locums - NHS Trust in East Anglia - Locum Consultant in Microbiology

National Locums is working on behalf of an NHS trust in the East Anglia region, seeking a locum Consultant in Microbiology.

The Pathology department within the trust requires a Locum Consultant in Microbiology to start in April for an initial period of 6 weeks.

Working Hours and Responsibilities

Core hours are Monday – Friday, 09:00-17:00. On-call duties are on a 1:6 rota, covering clinical advice, infection prevention and control, antimicrobial emergencies, and outbreak management.

The role primarily involves providing advice to hospital clinicians on infection treatment and control, handling daily blood culture cases, authorizing microbiology reports, participating in ITU ward rounds via Teams, and attending handover sessions.

Requirements
  • GMC license to practise
  • NHS experience in Microbiology
  • Specialist Registration in Medical Microbiology and Virology and/or Infection Control (desired)
