Locum Consultant in Stroke Medicine – Yorkshire

Position: Consultant in Stroke Medicine
Location: Yorkshire, UK
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (with a view to extend)
Duration: 1st July 2024 – 30th September 2024 (with a view to extend)
Hours: 09:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday
On-Call: To be discussed at the point of booking
Start Date: 1st July 2024

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Consultant in Stroke Medicine to join our team in Yorkshire. This is a fixed-term contract from 1st July 2024 to 30th September 2024, with potential for extension. The role requires Monday to Friday work hours from 09:00 to 17:00. On-call responsibilities will be discussed at the point of booking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical care and management for stroke patients.
  • Lead stroke service development and implementation of best practices.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and stroke MDTs.
  • Conduct outpatient clinics and follow-up appointments.
  • Collaborate closely with neurology, radiology, and rehabilitation services.
  • Mentor and support junior medical staff and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and full GMC registration.
  • CCT in Stroke Medicine or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience in Stroke Medicine at the consultant level.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
