Position: Consultant in Stroke Medicine
Location: Wales, UK
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (with a view to extend)
Duration: ASAP – July 2024 (initially)
Hours: 09:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday
On-Call: Required
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant in Stroke Medicine to join our team in Wales. This full-time position is available immediately, initially running until July 2024, with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00, with on-call responsibilities required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive stroke care, including acute management, rehabilitation, and prevention.
  • Conduct outpatient clinics, inpatient ward rounds, and follow-up appointments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and support junior medical staff and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
  • Manage acute stroke admissions and emergencies.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and full GMC registration.
  • CCT in Stroke Medicine or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience in stroke medicine at the consultant level.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
