Role: Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine

Rates: £100 - £120 per hour (PAYE)

Shifts: 09:00am - 17:00pm, Monday to Friday

Location: Pinderfields General Hospital

• Weekly Payroll, usually each Friday

As a locum consultant, you will support patient care in both acute respiratory and general medicine, especially managing complex cases involving COPD and providing educational support to junior staff.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

• Support patients and communicate diagnoses and treatment options effectively.
• Coordinate and prescribe treatment plans.
• Monitor and care for patients continuously.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team for shared decision-making.
• Lead and participate in team activities.
• Assess patient needs, delegate tasks, and report changes.
• Maintain records, write prescriptions, and manage treatments.
• Engage in research to improve procedures.
• Mentor junior doctors and medical students.

Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications

• GMC registered Doctor (not necessarily on the Specialist Register).
• Experience at Consultant level or supporting references.
• Evidence of Right to Work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
• Pass an enhanced DBS check.
