This post offers the successful applicant the opportunity to join an established NHS Reproductive Medicine team who are highly motivated to deliver expert care to the women of greater Manchester and beyond. The successful applicant will join an emergency gynaecology on call rota (I in 11) which provides care at Wythenshawe and ORC sites as well as delivering elective outpatient and inpatient care to men and women with fertility problems. The successful applicant will work across the sites of the SMH MCS.

Main duties of the job

To support and complement the secondary and tertiary Gynaecology services provided by MFT.

To take a leading role in improving the quality of services in MFT.

To deliver outpatient clinics as agreed on the job plan.

To participate in the consultant rota patterns for the daytime and out of hours working at Wythenshawe Hospital and Oxford Road Campus sites.

To provide out of hours care as described in individual job plan.

To undertake the necessary administrative work relating to the post.

To be responsible for the supervision and training of junior staff and undergraduate students in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and to actively participate in clinical teaching and training of the wider multidisciplinary team.

To take an active role in Clinical Governance, and lead and participate in audit projects relevant to clinical care.

At present posts are based at Oxford Road and Wythenshawe Hospitals sites. As the SMH MCS service evolves, working may be required at other sites within the Trust and successful candidate must be willing to be flexible in this regard.
