A public health organization in Wales is looking for a Locum Consultant in Public Health. This role involves leading health initiatives, developing partnerships, and managing public health policies. Applicants must have a relevant public health qualification and be registered with the GMC or UK Public Health Register. The position offers a chance to contribute to significant public health improvements while working in a vibrant community.
Due to maternity leave, we have an exciting opportunity to join the Swansea Bay Public Health Team as a Consultant in Public Health until 30 November. We currently have 1 WTE available but welcome applications from those interested in part-time or job-share arrangements.
The Swansea Bay Public Health Directorate is led by an Executive Director of Public Health who sits on the Swansea Bay University Health Board. The team includes four public health consultants, two public health specialist leads, and other senior leaders. The Directorate has expanded significantly, now including a local Health Protection Service with an Immunisation Team.

The Consultant in Public Health will provide leadership and technical expertise, working with internal and external partners to influence public health delivery at a local level.

The specific areas of work will be negotiated based on the Directorate’s needs and the candidate's skills. A detailed job plan will be developed with the Director of Public Health upon appointment.
The post holder will be accountable to the Director of Public Health.
Applicants must be on the GMC/GDC Specialist Register or UK Public Health Register.

Salary will depend on experience, pro-rated accordingly.
