Introduction

Position Details

Start Date: 1st August 2025 for a one-year contract.

Applications are invited for a full-time locum Consultant in Paediatric Anaesthesia at the Royal Hospital for Children.

Contract and Responsibilities

This is a 10PA contract involving responsibilities in general and emergency theatres. The 'on-call' commitment is 1 in 20, covering out-of-hours emergencies at the RHC site.

Department Context

The successful candidate will join a team of 26 Anaesthetic consultants providing on-call cover. The department also includes a cardiac anaesthetic rota with 5 paediatric cardiac anaesthetists, as well as advanced trainees, post-CCT Fellows, and specialty trainees from the West of Scotland Training Scheme.

Eligibility and Experience

Applicants must be eligible for full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at interview. Significant paediatric anaesthetic experience is required.
