NHS Locum Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial SurgerySpecial Interest in Facial Deformity and Orthognathic Surgery / Head and Neck Oncology

12 months Fixed Term Contract.

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) is seeking to appoint a motivated and forward-thinking Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. We welcome applications from dynamic and enthusiastic individuals with a special interest in facial deformity and orthognathic surgery and/or head and neck oncology surgery.

The post will be based at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, with an expectation to contribute to service delivery across the Trust. As with all consultant appointments within NCIC, there will be a requirement to provide clinical input at West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven, and/or in community clinics across North Cumbria, supporting equitable access to specialist services across the region.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must be registered with the General Medical Council and hold an appropriate higher surgical qualification and preferably should also be registered with the General Dental Council.

  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • An appropriate higher Surgical qualification
  • Special interest in facial deformity and orthognathic
  • Full registration with the GDC
  • Entry on the GMC specialist register in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery via relevant CCT, MRCP (UK) or equivalent (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview), relevant CESR or European Community Rights

  • High level of clinical experience and competence in OMFS services, including Trauma
