A leading healthcare provider in the United Kingdom seeks a locum consultant to cover maternity leave at Peterborough City Hospital. This fixed-term position is expected to start in January 2026 and primarily involves working at one site with potential cross-site responsibilities. This appointment will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of service for the 2003 consultant contract (England). Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant post in the North West Anglia NHS Trust. Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust formally merged with Hinchingbrooke Hospital on 1st April 2017, to form the new Trust (on 3 sites).
This is a locum post fixed term at 9 months to cover maternity leave based at Peterborough City Hospital. This post is expected to start in January 2026. Applicants interested in working less than full time or who wish to job share are welcome to apply. It is expected that the successful candidate will be working on one site at Peterborough City Hospital though there may be a need for cross site working in the future.
The total number of deliveries is 4500 per annum. This appointment will be made by the terms and conditions of service for the 2003 consultant contract (England).
NWAFT serves a diverse and fast-growing population of 700,000 people and employs around 6,000 staff. NWAFT is commissioned by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB and Lincolnshire ICB. Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke Maternity Departments have been rated as 'Good' by CQC in June 2023. They have fully equipped obstetric and midwifery led birthing units, fetal medicine scanning and high risk obstetric services in addition to high quality modern inpatient and outpatient Gynaecology services. The Maternity IT system is K2 with all 3 modules- Antenatal, Intrapartum and Postnatal., Priority will be given to colleagues identified as at risk through the Trust's redeployment process.
