A NHS Trust in Birmingham is seeking a locum Consultant for a 6-month period to enhance expertise in High-Risk Obstetrics and Delivery Suite management. The role includes providing excellent maternity care, collaborating with a team of experienced consultants, and supporting antenatal services. Essential qualifications include CCT and full GMC registration, along with advanced obstetric training. You will join a dynamic team aiming to improve health outcomes in the community.
Applications are invited for a locum Consultant post for a period of 6 months to increase expertise in High-Risk Obstetrics & Delivery Suite management within the Trust and to provide leadership and innovation within the Directorate of Maternity & Perinatal Medicine. All maternity services are provided at MMUH, delivering approximately 5000 women per year, with a large level 2+ NNU and full capability to provide HDU and ITU care to our mothers. There is a nationally recognized co-located midwifery-led birthing unit. The Fetal Medicine Unit provides a full range of FM diagnostic and screening services, with well-established links to allied regional services. Antenatal care is based on a specialist multidisciplinary clinic model with clinics staffed by dual consultants, and teams where this promotes better access to and contact with hard-to-reach groups to ensure equal access to high quality obstetric care.
