The appointments will be subject to full Occupational Health Clearance and Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check for the successful candidates prior to commencement. Full GMC Registration with licence to practice at the time of application.

Essential criteria
  • Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice (GMC licence to practice is mandatory before employment commences)
  • Specialist Registration in Obstetrics & Gynaecology or eligibility to enter it within 6 months from the time of the interview
Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • MRCOG or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • MD or equivalent Higher Degree or evidence of relevant research
Clinical Experience
Essential criteria
  • Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Able to take full and independent responsibility for clinical work and delivering a service without direct supervision. Including chairing the gynae-oncology MDT in person
  • RCOG ATSM Gynaecological Oncology
  • Experience in colposcopy
Desirable criteria
  • Colposcopy BSCCP accreditation
  • ATSM in Vulval disorders
Clinical Effectiveness
Essential criteria
  • Able to demonstrate a broad understanding of the principles and elements of clinical governance.
  • An interest which improves the Obstetrics and Gynaecology pathway in all aspects
  • Experience of guideline appraisal
  • Participation in relevant local audits
  • Ability to interpret and apply clinical research
Desirable criteria
  • Participation in relevant national audits
Teaching
Essential criteria
  • Knowledge and ability to teach all grades of trainees and medical students.
  • Understands learner centred teaching
  • Evidence of involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching

  • Attended Teaching the Teachers or similar course
