Job description
Overview

As a consultant ophthalmologist you will be running a specialist weekly clinic seeing both outpatients and ward patients referred with a wide range of neuro-ophthalmic conditions.

Responsibilities
  • To run an outpatient clinic as per timetable.
  • To be available during normal office hours for consultations with neurosurgical and neurology staff relating to inpatients in the hospital and to facilitate inpatient consultations on request.
  • To undertake peri-ocular botulinum injections as indicated.
  • To review data collected by ophthalmic technicians for the hydroxychloroquine retinal screening service.
  • To participate in the fortnightly departmental MDT (Thursdays 1-2pm).
  • To actively contribute to the research, teaching and clinical governance activities of the department.
