Locum Consultant in Haematology – West Midlands

Position: Consultant in Haematology
Location: West Midlands, UK
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (with a view to extend)
Duration: 17th June 2024 – 20th December 2024
Hours: 09:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday
On-Call: 1:5
Start Date: 17th June 2024

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Haematology to join our team in the West Midlands. This fixed-term contract runs from 17th June 2024 to 20th December 2024, with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00, with an on-call commitment of 1:5.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform one laboratory session per week.
  2. Participate in one ward and cancer MDT session.
  3. Conduct one ward session per week.
  4. Allocate two sessions for prescribing, administration, and daytime on-call duties.
  5. Every fourth week, clinics will be canceled to focus on ward and inpatient duties.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and full GMC registration.
  • CCT in Haematology or equivalent.
  • Significant consultant-level experience in Haematology.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
