Job description

Job Title: Locum Consultant in Geriatric Medicine
Grade: Consultant
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Contract: 12-months fixed-term, with CESR support
Rate: £105,504 to £139,882 a year pro rata per annum

We are looking for a Locum Consultant in Geriatric Medicine to join an established Geriatric Medicine service in Birmingham. This role involves providing comprehensive geriatric care and supporting the frailty service. If you are a dedicated and skilled professional looking to make a meaningful impact in geriatric medicine, this position is for you. Join us in delivering exceptional medical care to those in need.

This is a permanent post for one full-time Consultant Geriatrician, though applicants wishing to work flexibly or less than full-time will be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to have or develop a subspecialist interest which could include, but is not limited to, interface and community geriatrics, orthogeriatrics and surgical liaison, and movement disorders. CESR support can be offered to applicants wanting to pursue this pathway to GMC-specialist registration.

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Medical degree and valid medical license.
  • MRCP or equivalent.
  • Applicants must have GMC registration or be eligible to join the register within 6-months.
  • Applicants for the substantive position must have GMC specialist registration or be eligible to join the specialist register within 6-months.
  • Proven experience as a Geriatric Medicine Consultant.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency in medicine procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with medical advancements.
