Job description

The post holder will be a part of our team, ensuring that patients receive the highest standards of care, in accordance with the National Service Framework for Frailty and Geriatric Medicine and relevant NICE guidance.

We are seeking a consultant in Frailty to be a key part of our emergency department and frailty assessment unit, working alongside our other Consultants.

This role will lead the transition from age-related services towards an acute frailty service. It includes implementing an Acute Physician-led AMU model supported by specialty in-reach rotas. Additionally, there are plans to change the HCOOP referral criteria from an age-based to a frailty-based criterion.

We are looking for dynamic and motivated Elderly Care Consultants to join our friendly and enthusiastic team. The successful candidates will work with other Consultants to provide the highest quality care for older patients in Ashford, Canterbury, and Thanet.

Our trust is one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with three acute hospitals and community sites serving a population of around 700,000. We also provide specialist services for Kent and Medway.

We are on an exciting journey of transformation, with a new Medical School at the heart of our community, a focus on research, clinical leadership, and making our trust a rewarding and friendly place to work. There's never been a better time to join us.
