Overview

This is a 10 PA locum appointment for a Consultant in Emergency Medicine. This post will be available for a period of 6 months. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team within the Emergency Department at the Leeds General Infirmary and St James's University Hospital. The Trust is committed to providing sustainable consultant-delivered services to ensure the quality of the patient experience. Working patterns that provide senior cover throughout 24 hours per day, seven days per week will therefore be required. The post will be available immediately. Part time working will be considered.

The role involves joining a consultant team that delivers a 24-hour Consultant presence in the Emergency Departments at both sites. The successful candidate will work with the Trust and its consultant staff to deliver service patterns and job plans that meet this objective. Applicants should have established skills in Emergency Medicine and may have a subspecialty interest. A strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research interest is desirable.

About us: Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has invested in its Emergency Medicine services to provide specialist Consultant-led trauma care and a 24/7 Consultant presence in the Emergency Department. The Emergency Departments treat a high volume of patients and have been refurbished to reflect current patient flows across LGI and St James University Hospital.
