Join NHS as a Locum Consultant in Emergency Medicine for a transformative period at our recently redeveloped Emergency Department. Contribute directly to patient care, training junior staff, and partake in service redesign initiatives. This full-time fixed term role offers a competitive salary and a supportive environment.
We are seeking enthusiastic Locum Consultants in Emergency Medicine to join the existing ED team. The post is for a year fixed term, renewable for six months up to a maximum of two years from appointment. Contract renewal is not automatic and is based on strong evidence of progression towards CESR/CCT in EM routes.
It is an exciting time to join our team as the new ED has recently opened; the £8M redevelopment plan has delivered a bigger footprint and new Paediatric, Major and CDU areas. There is considerable scope for the successful candidates to be involved in service re-design and quality improvement projects, shaping the Departments future development and improvement of patient care.
Whilst the post has a strong emphasis on direct, consultant delivered emergency care, we are seeking applicants who will have the ability to make a major contribution to training and upskilling our junior medical staff, nursing staff and the wider professional team, to get involved and lead on QIP.
The department's many attributes include regional accreditation as a Trauma Unit, established as regional point of care ultrasound (POCUS) training centre with daily teaching run by accredited trainers. We also boast multi professional simulation sessions, dedicated teaching, and a unique CESR programme.
