Ideal candidates will be GMC registered and specialize in Geriatric and General Medicine. The organization values flexibility and well-being in the workplace, encouraging applications for part-time roles.
We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic Geriatricians to join our existing team of six dedicated consultant colleagues. There has been significant investment and expansion of Older People’s Services within Barts Health NHS Trust on the Newham Site, making it an exciting time to join our team.
There are rewarding opportunities within Frailty, Acute Geriatrics, Medical Liaison, Community Liaison (including Virtual Wards and Care Home Medicine), and outpatient clinics.
We deliver outstanding clinical care and high-quality, award-winning services for people living within the London Borough of Newham and surrounding areas.
We are leaders in developing a flexible working environment and value well-being and work-life balance. Applications for LTFT (Less Than Full Time) working are encouraged.
We support clinical leadership across all specialties, with a commitment to leadership development in partnership with the Kings Fund. Candidates interested in clinical lead roles are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to our award-winning Virtual Frailty Team and deliver an early Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) in ED for acute geriatric admissions. This role includes rotation with coverage for an acute inpatient ward (max 13 beds).
The successful candidate will rotate between an acute inpatient ward (max 13 beds) and the Front Door Frailty Team in ED, delivering CGA to prevent unnecessary admissions and re-presentations in frail older adults.
Both posts involve contributing to the General Internal Medicine on-call rota (covering all ages) with a frequency of 1:12 (B supplement). Pro-rata on-call slots are available for LTFT posts.
You must hold full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register for Geriatric and General Medicine or within 6 months of obtaining CCT.
Support and mentorship will be provided to help transition into the role.
