Locum Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology

Join to apply for the Locum Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology role at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Locum Consultant to join our Diabetes and Endocrinology department. The successful candidate will support services at William Harvey Hospital, collaborate with other physicians, and contribute to high-quality patient care.

Department and Facilities
  1. Comprehensive endocrine testing and dynamic endocrine assessments.
  2. Advanced imaging including PET-CT scans.
  3. Support from nuclear medicine for thyroid treatments.
  4. Thyroid and parathyroid surgery services via ENT.
  5. Strong links with pituitary and adrenal MDTs at Kings College Hospital, London.
Role and Responsibilities
  1. Provide clinical care for general diabetes and endocrine disorders.
  2. Support primary care by managing diabetic patients, liaising with GPs, and participating in education programs.
  3. Work collaboratively with community-based specialist nurses and share junior staff roles.
  4. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and continuous professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Medical qualification and registration with GMC.
  • Relevant experience in diabetes and endocrinology.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
