Overview

LOCUM CONSULTANT DERMATOLOGIST

We are seeking an enthusiastic Locum Consultant Dermatologist to join the Dermatology Team in our large teaching Trust. The post is based at the Birmingham Skin Centre, City Hospital Campus, with a department of 5 Consultants, resident doctors and Plastic and ENT Surgery colleagues, and a dedicated nursing and administration team. Services include dermatological surgery, tertiary cutaneous allergy, Laser therapy, paediatric dermatology, skin cancer and a biologics service.

Responsibilities

• Provide general dermatology clinical services, paediatric dermatology, skin cancer clinics and other subspecialty clinics as agreed.
• Offer surgical sessions including Laser surgery where expertise is available.
• Contribute to teaching, training and research within the department and its links with the University of Birmingham and Health Education West Midlands.
• Participate in departmental administration and multidisciplinary team activities.

Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 per annum

Essential

• MRCP or equivalent; registration in Dermatology (or CCT/CESR expected within 6 months from interview)
• Clinical training and experience equivalent to gaining CCT in Dermatology; ability to manage acute medical emergencies and patient care independently
• Full GMC Registration
• Ability to organise workload, plan strategically and motivate the multidisciplinary team
• Experience in clinical audit and using evidence to support decision-making
