Locum Consultant in Acute Medicine at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust

Join to apply for the Locum Consultant in Acute Medicine role at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust.

We are seeking an enthusiastic colleague with an interest in Acute Medicine to join our team of 18 consultants. Our team benefits from shared job plans within various specialties, including Infectious Diseases. We have extensive experience supporting consultants through CESR applications and offer peer support for staff exploring CCT by this route.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide and develop acute services, ensuring effective and efficient delivery, risk management, and clinical governance. Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing ongoing care for patients under their supervision.
  2. Developing collaborative relationships with medical colleagues and external agencies.
  3. Working with colleagues to develop and deliver acute medicine services within the Trust.
  4. Offering consultation and advisory services to colleagues in other specialties and primary care.
  5. Participating in the development of urgent care models and Same Day Emergency Care pathways.
  6. Providing out-of-hours emergency cover on an equitable basis.
  7. Supervising and developing trainee doctors within the specialty.
