Job Title: Locum Consultant Histopathologist (Breast Pathology)
Grade: Consultant
Location: Manchester
Contract: 12-months fixed-term, with CESR support
Rate: £105,504 to £139,882 a year pro rata per annum

We are seeking a Consultant in Histopathology with a special interest in Breast Pathology to join an established NHS Histology department in Manchester. The successful candidate will contribute to the general workload and provide specialist breast pathology services. This Department of Cellular Pathology at this trust is a friendly and busy department that supports many multidisciplinary teams for cancer specialists, including breast, upper and lower gastrointestinal, lung, urology, gynaecology, head and neck, and haematology. Their surgical and medical colleagues are very appreciative of the high-quality diagnostic service provided by the Histology service, and this is reflected in their excellent working relationships with clinical colleagues. CESR support can be offered to applicants wanting to pursue this pathway to GMC-specialist registration.

As a Histopathologist specialising in Breast Pathology, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and analysing breast tissue samples, managing patient care, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Your expertise will be vital in guiding teams to deliver high-quality breast pathology services and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications and Experiences

  • Medical degree and valid medical license (FRCPath or equivalent).
  • Applicants must have GMC registration or be eligible to join the register within 6-months.
  • Applicants for the substantive position must have GMC specialist registration or be eligible to join the specialist register within 6-months.
  • Proven experience as a Histopathology Consultant (Breast Pathology).
  • Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency in medicine procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with medical advancements.
