University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a locum 7 PA Consultant ENT surgeon who is committed to high-quality patient care, innovative service models, performance targets, and excellence in education and training. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
NB: 1:14 On-call commitment.
The post is primarily clinic-based to support reducing wait times, involving work off-site and requiring flexible working. The post holder must be on the specialist register. There are no fixed theatre sessions, but opportunities to cover theatre sessions may arise due to leave, requiring flexibility.
This provisional job plan is subject to agreement and change.

The consultant’s job plan is expected to comprise 7 Programmed Activities per week on average, at the RNENT and satellite clinics at Edgware and Whittington. The new post-holder will discuss and agree on a detailed job plan, including personal and professional objectives, with the Clinical Director within three months of starting. A prospective diary exercise may be required.
Of the 7 PAs, 6 will be Direct Clinical Care, including a 1 in 12 on-call commitment, and 1 SPA. The DCC job plan follows a team-based approach. The remaining activities related to departmental support, professional activities, and personal objectives are tailored individually.
