Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Whole-Time Locum Consultant in Endocrine and General Surgery. This role involves delivering high-quality surgical care and contributing to teaching and research initiatives at two major hospitals in Sheffield. We are looking to appoint a Whole-Time Locum Consultant in Endocrine and General Surgery to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Northern General Hospital.
We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.
Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will, together with other Consultant colleagues be responsible for the provision of Endocrine surgical and general surgical services to enable the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to fulfil its service agreements with Sheffield Health and other commissioners.
The appointment will maintain the structure of sub-specialisation within Endocrine surgery, which will improve the quality of teaching and efficiency of the service, benefit training of higher surgical trainees and facilitate translational and clinical research in collaboration with the units of Oncology and Endocrinology in the University of Sheffield. Excellent research facilities are located in these departments, based at the University of Sheffield.
