Job Description:

RIG Locums is working with our NHS client in Durham to fill a locum vacancy. The trust seeks a Consultant Grade Doctor with Community Paediatrics experience for a long-term contract.

The job plan may be 6 PA over 2 days, or 2 x 12-hour days, with 3 x 8-hour days being preferable.

The trust, one of the largest integrated care providers in England, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Locum Consultant Community Paediatrician with an interest in neuro-disability for 6 to 12 months. The position is for 6 Programmed Activities, but flexible arrangements are considered. No on-call duties are included.

The post involves working with a dedicated team of community and developmental paediatric consultants across the trust, managing children with developmental disorders and complex health needs, alongside community nurses and therapists. Responsibilities include neurodevelopmental clinics, Initial Health Assessments of Looked After Children, multi-agency safeguarding work, and participation in clinical governance and departmental meetings. The primary location is Chester le Street Community Hospital, with the possibility of working at other trust premises as needed.
