Job description

We are looking for a Locum Consultant Dermatologist who holds a Diploma in Dermatology or equivalent and can assist with the triage of dermatology referrals.

National Locums is hiring Consultant Dermatologists and SPR/Associate Specialists to cover the following areas:

  • Minor operations
  • Biologics
  • Two-week wait (2WW) clinics

Pay rates start from £800 per day, up to £2500 per day. Since most work is private clinic-led, payment will be via limited company, umbrella, or self-employment. The contract duration is from 3 months up to 1 year.

The role requires the ability to see general dermatology patients referred directly by GPs, undertake investigations, diagnose conditions, and recommend treatments.

When appropriate, refer patients back to their GP with advice for ongoing management or for specialist opinions from Senior Consultant Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeons, or Dermatology Specialist Nurses.

Work collaboratively with dermatology nurse specialists through joint patient reviews and provide dermatological case advice.

Perform diagnostic biopsies, cryotherapy, curettage, and cautery procedures.

Successful candidates will have nursing support during clinics.
