NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. This is a fixed-term post of 12 months.
The position offers 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) and involves coverage of two Clyde Hospitals: the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) and Inverclyde Royal Hospital (IRH). Additional links include the Alan Lyell Centre for Dermatology in Glasgow. The candidate may be required to work at other locations as directed by the Clinical Service Lead.
Adult dermatology services in Greater Glasgow and Clyde are managed by the dermatology directorate, working on a hub-and-spoke model, with specialized services at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. This regional center serves approximately 1.5 million people in the West of Scotland.
Services are delivered across eight hospital sites, including Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Inverclyde Royal Hospital, RAH, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Stobhill Hospital, Vale of Leven Hospital, New Victoria Hospital, and West Glasgow ACH, providing outpatient dermatology services.
The multidisciplinary team includes Consultants, Specialty Doctors, GP Clinical Assistants, and Dermatology Nurses. The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital hosts subspecialty clinics.
The successful candidate will join a team of GGC dermatologists with interests in cutaneous surgery, skin cancer, photodermatology, contact dermatitis, severe psoriasis, teaching, genodermatoses, pediatric dermatology, connective tissue disorders, lymphoma, and hair disorders.
