Job description
Overview

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Part-time 7-session Locum Consultant in Community Paediatrics to provide targeted support in reducing long waits, with a specific focus on achieving zero patients waiting over 52 weeks. This short-term post will contribute to service recovery efforts by increasing clinical capacity, improving patient flow, and ensuring timely access to care for children and families.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the existing paediatric team, Service Manager and Clinical Lead to assess, prioritise and manage patients on the waiting list.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, documentation and reporting to support progress monitoring and sustainability of improvements.
  • Improve patient flow and ensure timely access to care for children and families.
Position details

This is a part-time post. The core 7 PA working week will be based on 6 PA’s of Direct Clinical Care (DCC) duties and 1 PA of SPA time. There is no on-call commitment.

Requirements
  • Full GMC registration and a licence to practise
  • Membership of the RCPCPH
  • Be registered with the GMC and on the specialist register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a CCT or CESR (CP) at the time of interview
