A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Locum Consultant Community Paediatrician to join their team in Barnsley for a fixed term of 6 months. This role involves conducting healthcare assessments and working collaboratively with local authorities. Candidates must have MRCPCH or equivalent and full GMC registration. The position offers a salary range of £109,725 to £145,478 per annum pro rata.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Locum Consultant in Community Paediatrics

Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an enthusiastic Locum Community Paediatrician to join our team of Consultants and Specialist Nursing team based in New Street Health centre, Barnsley for a fixed term of 6 months.

This is a vacancy for a locum Consultant post in Community Paediatrics which was previously held by a substantive specialty doctor. This 0.7 WTE post includes Neurodisability clinics, Initial health Assessments for looked after children and Multi-disciplinary assessments for children with social communication difficulties. The team works closely with Local authority, 0-19 service, therapists and other agencies.

The team of community Paediatricians conduct locality clinics in different areas of Barnsley.

Experience
  • Experience in the management of all aspects of community paediatrics including neurodisability and autism.
  • Adequate experience working in a multi-agency setting.

Qualifications
  • MRCPCH or equivalent.
  • Full GMC registration with specialist registration in paediatrics (or within 6 months of CCT at time of interview).
Audit, Research and Teaching
  • Understanding of clinical governance and the individual responsibilities it implies.
  • Knowledge of multidisciplinary audit principles.
  • Evidence of direct involvement in 2 specific medical audits in the last 18 months.
  • Ability to critically appraise published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate.
  • Evidence of teaching appropriate to medical students and doctors in training and multidisciplinary team.
  • Training in areas such as recruitment and selection, equal opportunities, leadership, planning and change management, appraisal.
Management
  • Experience in Management
  • Evidence of involvement in a research project.
