An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the clinical oncology paediatric teams at UCLH and the Royal Marsden Trusts.

In 2026, the Paediatric Radiotherapy service will move from the Royal Marsden to UCLH, creating the biggest service of its kind alongside one of only two UK PBT Centres.

You will gain unparallelled experience in the radiation oncology management of a wide range of tumour sites.

You will have the opportunity to gain experience in cutting edge techniques such as proton beam therapy.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role will be to provide radiation oncology management (photons and protons) for paediatric and TYA sarcoma patients at UCLH and to provide radiation oncology management (photons) for a wide range of paediatric patients at RMH (Sutton).

You will be well supported by the existing team of paediatric clinical oncology consultants.

Professional Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • MB,BS or equivalent Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice and revalidated as appropriate.
  • On GMC Specialist Register for Oncology or within six months of attaining CCT.
  • MRCP or equivalent NB: Non UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register and Specialist Register in Clinical Oncology by date of interview.
  • FRCR or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent)
Clinical Experience

Essential criteria
  • Comprehensive clinical experience in clinical oncology
  • Experience of and ability to work in multidisciplinary team.
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of ability to take clinical responsibility above SpR grade
Clinical Skills

Essential criteria
  • Management of all aspects of care of patients undergoing radiotherapy treatment
Desirable criteria
  • Undertaken advanced communications skills course
