Locum Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust

Join us as a Locum Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.

This role is based in the North Camden Community Team and offers a fixed term contract of 4 months.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist interested in working with children and young people within a dynamic CAMHS team. The successful candidate will join a well-established, diverse, and supportive multidisciplinary team including psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, and trainees.

The team supports emotional wellbeing through evidence-based interventions and works closely with local authorities, schools, and self-referrals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide psychiatric assessments and contribute to the multidisciplinary team, including risk assessments and mental health act evaluations.
  2. Offer consultation and support to team members, participate in weekly meetings, and contribute to assessment clinics.
  3. Manage a caseload of complex cases, providing psychopharmacology when appropriate, and produce accessible psychiatric reports.
  4. Engage in data collection, audits, quality improvement, and outcome monitoring.
  5. Participate in multidisciplinary reviews, develop care plans, and undertake leadership and service development duties as needed.
