Job description

National Locums are working on behalf on of an NHS trust based in the Midlands looking for a locum Consultant Radiologist with specialist interest in Cardiothoracic Imaging.

The Radiology department based in an NHS trust in the Midlands are looking for a locum Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist to start immediately on a 6 month contract in the first instance.

The successful candidate will join an existing team of 4 WTE Radiologists within a department of 48 WTE Consultant Radiologists. The trust is one of the top 5 largest Cardiothoracic surgery centres in the UK and is in the top 3 busiest regional major trauma centres in the UK.

The job plan will include:

  • Thoracic reporting
  • Thoracic intervention
  • HRCT reporting
  • Lung and ILD MDT
  • Acute CT reporting
  • CME
  • On-call (1:19)

The appointed Radiologist would be expected to engage with the imaging department service delivery including on-call and cross-site cover with another site. A desirable attribute would be the ability to contribute to the service for USS and CT guided drains. There is also opportunity to engage in further sub-specialty interest including Lymphoma (haematology) imaging and MDT and Skin imaging and MDT.

You must hold full the following in order to be considered:

  • GMC license to practise.
  • FRCR or equivalent
  • Fellowship
  • Full right to work.
  • Minimum 12 months NHS experience in Cardiothoracic Radiology.
