A prominent healthcare institution in England is seeking a Consultant Cardiologist with sub-specialty expertise in cardiac imaging. You will be responsible for delivering clinical services, including echocardiography and cross-sectional imaging, while participating in a general cardiology on-call rota. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in clinical cardiology and should ideally possess an academic profile. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work within a modern healthcare environment committed to inclusivity and quality patient care.
This is an exciting time to join the cardiac imaging team at UHNM and to develop the service for a large population, at a time of great opportunities to improve care. The appointee will be joining a team of supportive colleagues including 4 heart failure consultants, 9 EP/device consultants, 3 imaging consultants, 11 structural and coronary intervention consultants and 2 inherited cardiac conditions consultants, with 1 academic consultant post attached to Keele University. The cardiac imaging service at UHNM incorporates echocardiography, CT and MRI. The echocardiography service at UHNM is accredited by the British Society of Echocardiography for TTE, training, TOE and stress echo. The department is supported by 16 accredited, highly specialised echocardiographers who provide a range of scientist-led services, including valve clinics, stress echo and transoesophageal echocardiography. This is a full-time post for a Consultant Cardiologist with sub-specialty expertise in cardiac imaging working for University Hospitals North Midlands.
UHNM has been awarded the Gold Award for supporting those who serve. We actively encourage applications from the Armed Forces community. We will communicate via email and cannot guarantee security of non-encrypted emails. If you need support completing an application, contact the recruitment department on 01782 675533.
At UHNM we may close adverts early; please apply without delay. If qualifications were obtained overseas, provide an official government translation through ECCTIS (formerly NARIC) in addition to registration requirements. If you are on a UK visa, you must have at least six months remaining at your start date to ensure sufficient time for operations and training; this does not apply to a Skilled Worker Visa which would require a new visa for a new role.
UHNM supports responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assist in preparing supporting statements; if AI is used, declare it in your submission and ensure it does not imply experiences or understandings you do not possess or where its use is excessive or unfair.
The successful candidate will deliver clinical services encompassing all aspects of cardiac imaging, including echocardiography and cross-sectional cardiac imaging, and will have substantial experience in clinical cardiology. An academic profile is desirable, and the candidate will participate in the general cardiology on-call rota (currently 1:11).
