NHS Lanarkshire - University Hospital Monklands
University Hospital Monklands (UHM) is looking for a Locum Consultant Anaesthetist to join its existing team of Consultants and wider multi-disciplinary team.
The Anaesthetics Department is part of the Surgical & Critical Care Directorate, which provides services within a 7 theatre main operating suite and a stand-alone 2 theatre day unit. There is a 10 bedded Level II/III ICU, normally admitting approximately 600 patients per year and 6 Level I surgical beds, admitting over 200 patients per year.
The successful applicant will contribute to the provision of general anaesthesia within the main theatre and day surgery unit, including out of hours work. There will be flexibility to accommodate special interests such as acute pain or anesthesia for major ENT surgery.

All services are currently working to design and realize new models of care for the replacement University Hospital Monklands, which will be Scotland's flagship digital hospital, to be built in 2031.
University Hospital Monklands is a district general hospital offering a varied practice. It hosts all major ENT, head and neck, and urology cases for NHS Lanarkshire, as well as colorectal, upper GI, vascular access, OMFS, and dental services.
