A reputable healthcare provider in the City of Westminster is seeking two part-time consultant psychiatrists to join their South Mental Health Integrated Network Teams. This role includes managing complex cases, providing clinical leadership, and establishing positive relationships with local healthcare providers. Ideal candidates will have a Consultant Psychiatrist qualification and experience in community mental health. The position offers the potential for contract extension beyond six months.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two part-time consultant psychiatrists with our H&F South Mental Health Integrated Network Teams (MINT) for six months, with the potential to extend to one year.
South MINT - 6 PAs, based at Claybrook Centre. The MINT model aims to better meet individual needs through multidisciplinary teams (MDT) by developing good relationships with the local Primary Care Network (PCN). This is a transformed service, with workload assessments based on current referral patterns and existing caseloads.
There are 5 PCNs in Hammersmith and Fulham, each supported by an MDT. One full-time Consultant Psychiatrist is allocated to each PCN. Within each team, a whole-team approach to caseloads is adopted.
Applicants interested in a full-time role may consider adding locum consultant time to approximate full-time hours.
You will play a key role in a liaison/consultation model, providing early, accessible advice to GPs and PCNs to support patient care locally. GPs can contact you via telephone or email during working hours. You will also provide clinical leadership in multidisciplinary team meetings, referrals, case discussions, advice, and supervision both within and outside team meetings.
Your responsibilities include managing complex cases, offering senior assessments, and providing direct input on risk, medication management, and diagnostics, including Mental Health Act Assessments, CTO reviews, and supporting urgent assessments. You will share senior medical responsibilities with the job-sharing consultant for the MINT team.
There is an indicative schedule of 9 outpatient clinics per week, comprising a mix of new and follow-up appointments.
You will be expected to establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues in PCNs, secondary care mental health teams, the Local Authority, and Community & Social Enterprise services. Facilitating smooth transitions into and out of the service through these relationships is also essential.
