Responsibilities

  • Provide wound care, venepuncture, and holistic assessments as a Community Nurse.
  • Administer IVs and perform catheterisation as needed.

Community Nurse

Full time locum
Portishead

At present, Dream Medical require a Community Nurse for a full time locum position. This is initially for a minimum of 2 weeks and is due to commence as soon as possible.

Required Competencies:
  1. Wound care including pressure ulcers
  2. Venepuncture
  3. Obtain samples
  4. Catheterisation (female would be helpful if also competent in male and suprapubic)
  5. Bandaging
  6. Holistic assessment
Additional Skills (Beneficial):
  1. Administration of IV's
  2. Compression bandaging
  3. Doppler assessments
  4. Palliative care

You must be an NMC registered Nurse with up to date certificates of competencies for the skills mentioned above. You must have an Enhanced DBS certificate issued within 1 year with up to date Mandatory training in BLS, Safeguarding, First Aid, Information Governance and Infection Control.
