Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer

Venn Group have been instructed on a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyerrole, with a Local Authority in South Yorkshire. The client is looking for someone to start as soon as possible, for a period of 3 months initially. Fully remote working can be offered – however, it would be ideal if the successful candidate could commit to attending the office once a fortnight/month for ad-hoc matters.

The role will involve working independently, dealing with high value and complex work. This may involve:

• Advising on procurement and contract law, including drafting and reviewing contracts.
• Preparing and amending grant agreements and JCT contracts. (Construction experience is not essential for this post)
• Advising on amendments to Contract Procedure Rules and commenting on reports.
• Collaborating with the Procurement Officer and service leads to implement best practices.
• Developing templates to promote consistent, high-quality contract management across the Council.

Arrangement: Full time, 4 days will be considered
Hourly Rate: £50 - £55ph umbrella

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with Commercial Contracts experience, ideally in a Local Authority setting

• Ability to work independently and manage a full caseload

• Knowledge of local government law and procedures is desirable
