A leading law firm is looking for a Locum Civil Litigation Lawyer for a 3-month contract primarily working remotely. The ideal candidate will manage a variety of Civil Litigation cases, especially in Public Liability, and must have a strong grasp of legal compliance, including GDPR. This role allows for flexible working arrangements while requiring some court attendance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing Civil Litigation matters.
  • Focus on Public Liability claims within the Public Sector.
  • Prior experience in Judicial Reviews is beneficial.

  • Manage a busy caseload of Civil Litigation matters.

Position: Locum Civil Litigation Lawyer

Organisation: Midlands based

Duration: 3 months with the likelihood of extension thereafter

Working Pattern: Full-time

Working Arrangement: Predominantly Remote Working, Court/office attendance when required

Hourly Rate: Up to £55 per hour, dependent on experience

The ideal candidate will have experience in handling a mix of Civil Litigation matters, with an emphasis on Public Liability claims within the Public Sector.

Duties may include:

  • Manage a busy caseload of Civil Litigation matters, with an emphasis on Public Liability cases including, but not limited to, false imprisonment, data protection and human rights
  • Prior experience in Judicial Reviews is beneficial for this position
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR by overseeing data protection policies and practices
  • Represent the Council in Court and conduct advocacy where appropriate in mainly remote hearings with some Court attendance required
