Job summary

Pulse Healthcare Limited is seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist (Histology) for a locum role in Scotland. Based in Edinburgh with core hours, the position offers an hourly rate of £32–£40 and an ongoing, full‑time commitment to a busy histology service.

The role involves processing and embedding tissue, microtomy, slide staining, and assisting pathologists with diagnostic reporting. NHS experience is preferred and HCPC registration is required.

We are currently seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Histology to join our client's team in Scotland. This is a full‑time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well‑established laboratory service.

Key Responsibilities

You will process and embed tissue samples, perform microtomy, and stain slides for microscopic examination. You will support pathologists in diagnostic reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

• HCPC registration
• Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent
• Experience in Histology within a clinical laboratory
• Experience with microtomy and staining techniques
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• NHS experience (preferred)
