Job summary

Pulse is seeking a Band 8a Biomedical Scientist Laboratory Manager to join the Carlisle team. This full-time, ongoing role focuses on managing laboratory operations, staffing, and ensuring regulatory compliance, with core hours only.

The ideal candidate will hold HCPC registration and a postgraduate Biomedical Science degree, with NHS experience preferred. You will lead service delivery, drive workflow improvements, and contribute to strategic development within a busy transfusion/blood sciences

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Postgraduate degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
• Experience in laboratory management within Blood Transfusion or Blood Sciences is preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and workflow optimisation is important.
• Strong leadership and strategic planning skills are essential.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are expected.
• NHS experience is preferred.

Working Pattern: Core hours only

Hourly Rate: £30-36 Umbrella equivalent via trust DE

We are currently seeking a Band 8a Biomedical Scientist Laboratory Manager to join our client’s team in Carlisle. This is a full-time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established laboratory service.

Key Responsibilities

You will manage laboratory operations, oversee staffing and workflow, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive service delivery and strategic development.

Qualifications and Experience

• HCPC registration
• Post graduate Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent
• Experience in laboratory management within Blood Transfusion or Blood Sciences
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and workflow optimisation
• Strong leadership and strategic planning skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• NHS experience (preferred)
