• Contract Type: Locum – Full-Time, Mon-Fri 08:30/09:00-16:30/17:00
• Hourly Rate: £26+ per hour

Role Overview

An exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join a Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team on a locum basis. Responsibilities include assessing and managing adults with complex neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, supporting communication and swallowing needs in community settings including patients' homes, clinics, and care homes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide specialist assessment and therapy for adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
2. Develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans.
3. Collaborate with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and other professionals.
4. Support patients and families with education and management strategies for long-term conditions.
5. Maintain accurate documentation following HCPC and trust guidelines.
6. Contribute to service development and clinical audits.

Requirements

• HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
• Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy.
• Minimum 12 months’ experience with adults in neurorehabilitation.
• Competent in managing dysphagia (must have up-to-date training and competencies).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and MDT collaboration skills.
• UK driving license and access to a vehicle (essential).
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
