Job summary

Locum Ready in Swindon is seeking an experienced Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner to work across a GP practice. The role offers flexible, sessional work with support from a multidisciplinary team in a well-organised primary care setting.

You will autonomously assess, diagnose and manage a range of presentations, provide evidence-based care and contribute to high-quality clinical outcomes. Morning and afternoon clinics are available, with up to 4 days per week and potential for block bookings.

Qualifications

• Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate) required.
• Prescribing authority via V300.
• Experience in primary or urgent care.

Responsibilities

• Run minor illness and acute assessment clinics.
• Conduct long-term condition reviews as needed.
• Telephone triage and clinical decision-making.
• Independent prescribing and medication reviews.
• Order and interpret investigations.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with GPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs.

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to work for a GP practice in Swindon. This role is ideal for an autonomous clinician seeking flexible sessional work within a well-organised primary care environment, with full support from an established multidisciplinary team.

You will independently assess, diagnose and manage a range of presentations, deliver evidence-based care, and contribute to high-quality clinical outcomes. The practice offers a structured workflow, clear expectations and a supportive clinical setup to make each session efficient and manageable.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
• V300 Independent Prescribing
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or walk-in settings
• Ability to work autonomously and safely
• Familiarity with common primary care systems (EMIS / SystmOne / Vision)
• Enhanced DBS
