Job Opportunity: Adult Social Care Lawyer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Adult Social Care Lawyer to join a Welsh Local Authority on an interim basis.

This is a full-time, hybrid working vacancy for an initial duration of 3 months, starting within the next 4 weeks. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with prior experience, preferably within a Local Authority setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct advocacy and represent clients in legal proceedings.
  • Handle all Deprivation of Liberty matters.
  • Manage a full caseload, providing advice and support to the legal team, focusing on Court of Protection matters.
  • Oversee Court of Protection proceedings and related legal requests.
  • Investigate case facts and advise on legal proceedings.
  • Represent clients in formal legal settings, attend Court, and perform advocacy as needed.
  • Manage complex cases involving welfare and financial issues under the Care Act 2014.
  • Handle applications to the Court of Protection and County Court under relevant laws, especially concerning nearest relations.

The position offers an hourly umbrella rate of £55-£60, depending on experience.
