Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work in a GP practice in Braintree. This role suits an experienced ACP from nursing, paramedic, or allied health background who can deliver autonomous clinical assessments and efficient patient management within a structured primary care environment.

You will join an established multidisciplinary team and run your own clinics, supporting both urgent and routine patient demand.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate).
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred.
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct acute and same-day access clinics
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming
• Ordering and interpreting investigations
• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)
• Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows
• Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system

Requirements

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
• Background may be Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings
• Confident autonomous clinician with strong decision-making skills
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
• Enhanced DBS

Working Pattern

• Flexible sessions up to 4 days per week
• Morning and afternoon clinics available
• Long-term and ongoing sessions offered
