Job summary
Work Lyf Group Ltd is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service a fleet of locomotives across the UK. The role is home-based with UK travel and offers a salary of 41,000–48,303.32 plus a 12.5% shift allowance and a company vehicle.
You will perform maintenance, fault finding, and modifications on-site, with on-call duties and extensive field work across customer locations. Strong diesel engine experience is essential, along with independent work and solid safety practices.
Qualifications
- Fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Diesel engine experience
- Problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach
- Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent experience
- BTEC/ONC in Engineering or similar qualification
Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control faults
- Complete reliability inspections and preventative maintenance checks
- Identify fleet issues and recommend corrective actions
- Participate in a rolling day/night on-call rota
- Provide technical support and advice to customers and colleagues
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately and on time
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance and regulations
- Support fleet upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
