A heritage steam railway is seeking a Locomotive Boilersmith/Fitter to perform the overhaul and maintenance of steam locomotives and diesel shunters. This permanent full-time role involves boiler repairs, running maintenance, and fabrication work. The ideal candidate will have engineering workshop experience and skills in welding and fabrication. Job Title: Locomotive Boilersmith/Fitter
Location: The Watercress Line - Ropley Station - On site working required
Job Type: Permanent Full Time 40 hours per week (with 30 minutes paid break) - 5 days over 7. Regular weekend, evening and holiday working will be required.
Hours: Core working hours are 0815 - 1700, however a reasonable amount of flexibility is essential
Holidays: 31 days including bank holiday allowance

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced Locomotive Boilersmith/Fitter to be part of a team to carry out the overhaul, restoration and maintenance of our running fleet of steam locomotives and diesel shunters.

Candidates with the experience or relevant job titles of; Boilerhouse Mechanic, Boilermaker Fitter, Boilermaker I, Boilermaker II, or Heritage Engineering Steam (Boiler-smith) Technician, Mechanical Fitter, Carriage and Wagon Fitter, and Engineering Technician, may also be considered for this role.
