Job description

Applications are invited for the position of Location Manager, Killough Quarry. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Operations Manager, Roadstone Ltd.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

1. Ensure Health & Safety policies/procedures are implemented in compliance with legal and statutory requirements and with relevant company policies, while driving continuous improvements in the Health & Safety culture.
2. Ensure compliance with operating requirements in accordance with EPA, Local Authority and Company policies.
3. Deliver Operational Excellence against agreed Key Performance Indicators.
4. Maintain relations with near neighbours, ensuring that the Company and Group image is maintained and enhanced.
5. Effectively manage all members of the location team in line with HR best practice and the established company union agreements and any I.R. issues.
6. Propose suitable learning opportunities and ensure that approved training programmes are carried out.
7. Preparation and implementation of the quarry development plans.
8. Manage quarry blasting – blast design, blast monitoring etc.
9. Active management of mobile plant efficiency using daily and weekly metrics.
10. Liaise with Roadstone Planning Department in relation to preparation of planning applications. Actively involved with planning consultants and prepare Environmental Impact Statements.
11. Production of the annual quarry budget and management of quarry costs.
12. Management of location sub-contractors.
13. Identify opportunities to improve and develop the quarry and plants, and duly deliver the company sustainability targets.
14. Optimise transport/haulage efficiency whilst driving best in class customer service.
15. Propose, prepare, and implement any CX projects which are approved.
16. Increase co-operation with other CRH companies and incorporate their “Best Practices”.
17. Work closely with other production centres in Roadstone.
