We're seeking a compassionate and motivated Locality Manager to help lead our services in Bridge of Earn. With a base in our Perth office, this full-time role is more than a leadership opportunity, it's a chance to empower individuals, support dedicated teams, and make a genuine difference in the lives of people with additional support needs.

This new and exciting role is ideal for someone seeking to make a meaningful impact while developing their leadership career. With an initial focus on our services in Bridge of Earn, the successful candidate will support and creatively develop our team in this area. As a leader in practice, the locality manager will continue to promote person-centred working, enabling the people supported to live their best lives.

In addition to a 37-hour working week, you'll take part in a paid on-call rota, offering valuable extra earnings and the rewarding opportunity to provide support when it's needed most. Though the locality manager will predominantly work Monday to Friday, there is an expectation of some flexibility to support the services in the area.

If you're ready to lead with purpose and bring energy to a dynamic team, we'd love to hear from you.

Please note and consider before applying;

  • Due to the geographical spread of the services only applicants with a full UK driving licence will be considered.
  • We do NOT currently offer visa sponsorship for our vacancies and would therefore ask that you do not apply if you require sponsorship.
  • Any enquiries please contact Eileen Keddie, Head of Operations - ekeddie@sensescotland.org.uk
Perth and Kinross services

We deliver bespoke 24-hour packages of support to individuals living within their own homes within Bridge of Earn and Perth city. Each person has complex needs that are unique to them but include sensory impairment, learning disability, autism and physical disability. The people we support have complex communication support needs with a requirement for staff who support them to develop skills in specialist areas of communication. The people we support enjoy a range of opportunities within their local communities such as clubs, discos, attending football matches, pottery classes, walking, swimming, art and craft sessions. The teams across the area often work together to develop new and creative opportunities for the people we support to experience but also support them with day to day activity including personal and intimate care, shopping, cooking and cleaning.

About you

The Locality Manager role ensures a management presence in the services, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of operations; overseeing safe rota development and cover in line with risk assessments and assessed need, delivery of commissioned hours, recruiting and skills matching staff and providing them with full inductions, training, support, supervision and, where there is a need, formal performance management.

Auditing and reviewing our services on an individual and holistic basis is important to us to ensure support strategies and records remain up to date and relevant. You will build working relationships that allow you to work in partnership with the people that we support, their friends and families and associated health and social work professionals to help overcome everyday challenges and plan for a positive future. You will be led by the Services Improvement Plan and the Organisations Strategic Plan, ensuring completion of action areas, audit, reviewing and celebrating successes while also identifying themes, learning and next steps to ensure continual development.

This is a new role and we are keen to find a leader to join our team who has a genuine passion to work towards this mission, making a significant, positive difference in the lives of the people with additional support needs and complex communication styles who use our services.

We believe having skilled leadership and management is key to ensuring our staff team members meet these needs by building trusting relationships, promoting independence and championing people to achieve their dreams and aspirations.
